HYDERABAD: Two female passengers drowned to death while five others were rescued by the divers when a six-seat Chingche Rickshaw skidded at Lined Channel here on Friday afternoon.
According to Edhi Foundation's volunteers, the rickshaw was carrying passengers from Jumman Shoro Village to Seri Town. The accident occurred outside the village as the driver lost control of the vehicle and it skidded into the Lined Channel.
Soon after the accident, residents of the village present there rescued six-month-old Shahbaz, son of Amin Shoro, two-and-a-half years old Rashida, daughter of Amin Shoro, 16-year-old Sabu, son of Jurio, 20-year-old Amina, daughter of Suleman Shoro and 60 year-old Khairan, wife of Wariyal.
However, the area people could not fish out seven-year-old Saima, daughter of Suleman Shoro and 22-year-old Salima, wife of Amin Shoro and they drowned to death.
The Edhi Foundation volunteers along with the divers reached the spot and started searching for the bodies of Saima and Salima.
