KARACHI: Sindh Information Minister Shazia Marri has said that there is no call for the division of Sindh in the province at all and no Sindhi will accept this demand, nor it will be permitted.
Pakistan Peoples Party will protect each and every corner of the province, she said while talking to media after a session of Sindh Assembly on Friday.
She said that the people of Sindh believe in living with love, peace and harmony and nobody living there would permit the division of this province.
Shazia Marri said that Sindh is a province which welcomed everybody from different parts of the country and people of Sindh gave a place to them in their hearts. All these people living here are united with the people of Sindh for this cause, she said.
Replying to a question, she said that PPP government respects all the institutions including judiciary. The appearance of Prime Minister Gilani before the Supreme Court is an ample example in this regard, she added.
The Sindh Minister said that vested interests, who resorted to negative propaganda campaign were disappointed.
She said Nawaz Sharif had planned to storm the Supreme Court in 1997, when he was prime minister, but there was peace when the sitting Prime Minister appeared before the apex court.
Referring to the resolution tabled in Sindh Assembly by National Peoples Party, against the amendment in Article 239 (4) of the Constitution, she said that PPP supports this, but the matter will be debated on Monday due to lack of time on Friday.
