LAHORE: An intense fire broke out at the first floor of a multi-storey departmental store in Liberty Market, rescue sources said Monday.

Eight fire tenders were busy in putting out the flames, which according to the owner of the building, erupted due to short-circuit at 5:30 am.

Rescue workers said they were trying to evacuate residents as fire had spread to the second floor as well. However, owner of the building said nobody was living at the second floor.
