KARACHI: The price of gold in the local market on Thursday remained unchanged amid a declining bullion price in the international markets.

The precious metal closed the day at Rs124,300 per tola and Rs106,567 per 10 grams. The rates last recorded an increase of Rs300 per tola and Rs257 per 10 grams on Wednesday.

Cumulatively, the safe-haven asset gained Rs900 per tola in the last three days.

Meanwhile, in the international market, gold dropped by $7 per ounce to settle at $1,783 as investors held off making big bets ahead of US inflation data this week, which is expected to set the tone for the Federal Reserve's strategy on interest rate hikes.

Meanwhile, silver prices in the domestic market remained unchanged at Rs1,460 per tola and Rs1,251.71 per 10 grams.
