LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif said that Punjab government has built model villages with all the basic amenities, Geo News reported.

Talking at the inauguration of Provincial Disaster Management Authority’s Command and Control Center, he said that fellow countrymen had donated Rs1.5 billion in this regard.

He said that 2010 floods incurred losses worth Rs10 billion, but with the grace of Almighty Allah, and the assistance of international donors rehabilitation was made possible.

“ We turned this challenge into an opportunity”, said Punjab CM.

On the occasion, EU ambassador to Pakistan, Lars-Gunnar Wigemark, said that EU would hold strategic dialogues with Pakistan on trade, aid, defence, and foreign affairs.
