Police, protesters clash after funeral prayers in Karachi

KARACHI: Funeral prayers of Mohsin Jafar and Taseer Abbas was offered in Ancholi after which some enraged participants tortured media representatives who were there for covering the event and broke their cameras, Geo News reported on Monday.

Later, some of the participants staged a sit in here at Shahra-e-Pakistan to protest the killings and blocked the road. Some unknown persons set on fire a mini bus that got stuck in a traffic jam.

Rangers and police personnel reached the spot and fired tear gas shells and shots in the air to bring the situation under control. They also took into custody a number of people on charges of rioting.
