Police seize huge cache of arms

PESHAWAR: The city police here on Wednesday thwarted an arms smuggling bid by seizing mortar shells, explosives and two boxes loaded with daggers at Pishtakhara area, senior police officer said.

SSP Operation Tahir Ayub told journalists that the seized arms and other ammunitions include mortar shells, three kilogram explosives and two boxes packed with daggers were recovered from the fields on Ring Road that was left by motorcyclist in fear of being caught by chasing police party.

The accused escaped from the scene. The police took over the motorcycle in its possession. (APP)
