Sports competitions begin at Tehsil level

FAISALABAD: Sports competitions under Punjab sports festival began at Tehsil level in the district on Monday.

DO sports Tariq Nazir informed here that three cricket matches were played at Iqbal stadium. Shoaib Cricket Club beat Al-Madina cricket club, Umar Abbas cricket club defeated Khurram club while Amir cricket club thrashed Awais Raza cricket club.

Two cricket matches were played at Punjab Medical College ground in which Gill cricket club beat Khalid Bin Waleed cricket club by five wickets and the team of Chak No 8 defeated Shahbaz Nagar team by eight wickets.

The DO said that two football matches were played at Bohranwali ground, while 41 matches of badminton between Tehsil city and tehsil Saddar were played at Samanabad sports complex, Al-Fateh sports complex, Ghulam Muhammad Sports complex Crescent sports complex.

Eleven matches of football and four matches of hockey were held at Al-Fateh sports ground and government college Samanabad. Seven competitions of tape ball cricket were organized at Crescent school ground. Six cricket matches and six football matches were held at Shahbaz Nagar ground. (APP)
