ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court has stopped President and Secretary Establishment from appointing a new Defence secretary until there is a ruling on the petition against the sacking of Lt. General Khalid Naeem Lodhi.

During the hearing of the petition, the deputy attorney general informed the court that replies had been submitted by the Prime Minister and Secretary Establishment while replies from other parties were still awaited.

The court adjourned the hearing and declared the notification sacking Lodhi as void and issued an interim order which allows the current set-up under Nargis Sethi to continue working.
