Teacher of seminary shot dead

ISLAMABAD: A teacher of a local seminary was shot dead by two unidentified criminals here at Mohallah `Nen Sukh' in the area of Bhara Kahu police station, a police spokesman said on Wednesday.

He said that Maulana Muhammad Riaz in his 40s, resident of Mansehra, used to teach students at Darul- Aloom Islamia in the suburb area of Islamabad `Satra Meel'. He went to the house of Shamas ur Rehman in Mohallah `Nen Sukh' from where two armed criminals chased him. He tried to run away from there but the armed criminals opened fire on him which he received in his leg and head. He died on the spot and his body was shifted to PIMS for postmortem.

Police have started the search of absconding killers and further investigation is underway.
