ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police have arrested 22 suspects and seven outlaws from various areas of the city and recovered narcotics, illegal weapons and stolen items from their possession, a police spokesman said on Thursday.

Following the directions of SSP Islamabad Muhammad Yousuf Malik, Islamabad police launched search operation in the areas of Shalimar, Koral, Sabzi Mandi, Golra, Kohsar police stations and arrested 22 suspects.

Further investigation is underway from them and the police is hopeful to get important information from them.

Tarnol police arrested three persons including two women for having a total of 1.220 kilogram opium, 630 gram hashish and one pistol.

These drug pushers were identified as Habib ur Rehman, Perveen Bibi and Zareena Bibi.

Sihala police nabbed two thieves namely Adnan and Irfan besides recovering stolen items from them. CIA police apprehended Qaisar Mehboob during routine patrolling and recovered 30 bore pistol from him while 30 bore pistol was recovered from an accused Imran arrested by Shehzad town police.

IGP Islamabad Bani Amin Khan and SSP Islamabad Muhammad Yousuf Malik have further directed all police officials to intensify vigilance and patrolling in their respective areas in order to curb anti-social activities.
