Hasan Ali says he likes to be known as the "bouncer"

Pakistan's pacer Hasan Ali has revealed that his "secret weapon" is his bouncer, which "shakes" the batters of the opposing side.

The pacer, speaking to DW, said: "I'm known for my in-swing, and a bouncer is my secret weapon that shakes the batters."

Ali said that the term "bouncer" suits fast-bowlers, and hence, he likes to be known as a "bouncer".

When asked if he is looking forward to participating in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), the cricketer said: "These are the times of excitement for all cricketers. I've been playing in the PSL since it began, and it's a terrific feeling that your country's own series is going to take place."

"I'm eager, and I'm hoping to provide my best performance yet this year," he said.

On foreign teams' visits to the country, Ali said: "Seeing foreign players play on your turf makes a huge impact; our young players learn a lot from them."

"It's impossible to put into words how it feels to play on home ground, especially when it returns after 10 to 12 years," he said.

Referring to the series played with South Africa at home, Ali said it was a great feeling. "We won the series and celebrated hugely."

For the next series against Australia, Hasan said that the national side was looking forward to playing some "good cricket."

Ali also shed light on the mixed reactions he received after dropping the crucial catch of Matthew Wade during the semi-final against Australia.

"I don't use social media often, but I discovered how many people backed me up, and I want to express my gratitude to them all," Ali said.

"More people backed me than those who criticised me, so I believe they know I give my best on the field"

Ali said, unfortunately, Pakistan was unable to win the semi-final, but he noted that in cricket, ups and downs are a part of the game.
