LAHORE: Sixteen people were killed and four others injured in separate road accidents occurred in Chaman, Bhakkar, Lodhran and Mianwali, Geo News reported Sunday.

A loader full of sand hit a car heading Quetta near Garang in Chaman, killing six people riding the car including a child while one man survived with injuries.

In a similar accident in Bhakkar, a collision between a truck and car left six people present in the car dead on the spot while a child and woman were critically injured. The deceased included two children and as many women and men.

A speeding trailer ran over a motor cycle in Lodhran, killing all the four of a family riding the bike.

In a separate accident, a speeding car fell into a canal in Mianwali near Bhatyanwala. The car was salvaged after a rescue effort that lasted for 18 hours but its driver is still missing.
