Constable shot dead

MULTAN: A police constable was shot dead by a drunk man here early Monday.

Police said they received information that an armed man who was drunk as well had inflicted gun shots at a passer in Khurram Shah Chowk in Delhi Gate area of the city.

SHO PS Delhi Gate Arshad Qayyum said that a police party was sent to arrest the accused.

However, when the police party reached the site the accused opened fire at them causing serious injuries to constable Liaquat.

The injured constable was rushed to Nishtar Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The accused, identified later as Tahir, was arrested and case was registered against him. (APP)
