RAWALPINDI: City Traffic Police (CTP) with the help of Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) conducted grand anti-encroachment operation and more than 110 vegetable and fruit handcarts and other goods were confiscated.

According to details, on the special instructions of Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Ghulam Abbas Tarar, City Traffic Police (CTP) is making efforts to remove encroachments from city roads for the smooth flow of traffic.

Under special operation conducted in this regard at Chungi No 22, Girja Road, Misrial Road, Talimori, Dharri Bazaar, Adiala Road, Allaabad Bazaar, Railway Road, Hathi Chowk, Cantonment Hospital Road and Tench Bhatta Road and confiscated goods and handcarts which were hampering the smooth flow of traffic.

Inspector Headquarters of City Traffic Police Bashir Ahmed Toor who also has additional charge of inspector encroachments along with the staff concerned of CTP and RCB conducted raids during this month and confiscated 20 truckloads goods from the aforesaid areas.

The confiscated items were handed over to the departments concerned for further legal action. (APP)
