KARACHI: Sindh Police claimed to have arrested 15 suspects besides rounding up 36 suspicious people during a search operation in the city’s Baldia Town neighbourhood early on Monday.

SSP Baldia Town Ijaz Hashmi told Geo News that four Afghan nationals, living illegally, have also been arrested during the operation.

Karachi, the financial hub of the country, has been marred by ethnic, sectarian and political violence for decades.

Police and Rangers have been carrying out an operation against criminals and terrorists for the last two years and have intensified their actions following an attack on a bus of the Ismaili community that killed at least 46 people in May earlier this year.
