MULTAN:Students will start getting free technical training at 31 institutes of south Punjab from next month, officials said on Tuesday.
The programme was launched by Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (Tevta) in collaboration with Punjab Skill Development Fund and all students would also getRs 1,000 monthly scholarships during the training period.
Students above the age of 16 will participate in the training courses and also get a tool kit after completion of the course.
February 25 has been fixed as the last date for submission of admission forms while interviews would be held on Feb 27. Amerit list will be displayed the same day, officials said.
Initially, the programme was launched in twelve colleges and institutes in Bahawalpur district, three in Lodhran district, andeight each in Muzaffargarh and Bahawalnagar districts.
The courses included civil surveyors, CNG operators, Shuttering carpenter, steel fixer, domestic tailoring, quality surveyors, cotton ginning plant operators, tractor operator, generator operator, drip irrigation, tunnel farming, electric wiring, welder, auto mechanic, fabric printing, professional cook and industrial fitter.
