To improve the web experience for developers and users alike, Google, Apple, Mozilla, and Microsoft have decided to work together for better interoperability between Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Safari,Web.devreported.
The joint effortis a new interoperability benchmark, called Interop 2022, which aims to reduce disruptions caused by the inconsistencies and differences between different browsers.
Deriving some of the focus points from Compat 2021, a similar effort by Google announced in late 2021, Interop 2022 has 15 areas of focus including scrolling, cascade layers, and colour spaces. Aimed at building a more reliable platform for developers, it can make web platforms more usable.
