Australian social worker and wife of former cricketer Wasim Akram, Shaniera Akram, on Tuesday, wished the ladies a happy women’s day in her Instagram post.

Busting a common misconception among the masses, Shaniera said that women’s day was not about putting men down but was about "uniting and becoming one to gain mutual respect and uplift each other”.

Defining the women’s day further, she added that it was “a day to celebrate so loud that those who don’t think they are enough, will hear our roar.”

Akram posted something similar on her Twitter account speaking of a woman’s strength and her journey in life. She posted a picture smiling and making a victory sign.
