WARSAW: Out of 1,500 Pakistani students, who arrived in Poland from Ukraine in the last 14 days, 300 departed from Warsaw, Poland, for Pakistan today on a special flight.
Pakistan's Ambassador to Poland Malik Farooq bade farewell to the students at Warsaw's Chopin Airport. Among these, there was a large number of female students.
Following the Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24, Pakistani students had started leaving the war zone. After 3-5 days' journey from the east of Ukraine, the students crossed the Polish border, taking advantage of the Polish government's special visa-free crossing facility.
After they arrived in Poland, the students stayed in the temporary shelter provided by the government on eight border crossings between Ukraine and Poland.
Pakistani mission moved students from border shelters to Warsaw before departing for Pakistan.
