A summary of three names for appointing the new chairman of Sindh Higher Education Commission in place of Dr Asim Hussain has been sent to Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.

The names of ex-vice-chancellor or Karachi University Dr Pirzada Qasim, former vice-chancellor of Liaquat Medical University Dr Nowshad A Sheikh, and Chairman of Charter Inspection Committee Dr Tariq Rafi have been suggested, sources told Jang.

After sending the summary, consultations were also held between Sindh Chief Minister and Dr Hussain regarding the appointment of the new chairman and it was decided that Dr Pirzada Qasim, who is very senior and has experience as vice-chancellor in three universities, should be appointed as the new chairman.

According to sources, there is a strong possibility that notification of the appointment of 79-year-old educationist, renowned poet, and intellectual Dr Qasim would be issued soon.
