The suspected mastermind of the hacking group that claimed to have broken into technology companies like Microsoft, Samsung, and Nvidia, has been traced, BloombergNewsreported.

Cybersecurity investigators believe a 16-year-old living somewhere near Oxford, England, is the mastermind of the notorious group called Lapsus$.

Lapsus$ has been stupefying cybersecurity experts for a while now. The group has broken into some of the most secure systems stealing parts of source codes.

The intent of the crime remains a mystery. Researchers, however, believe they could be motivated by money or fame. While experts suspect the teenager to be behind the crime, they have not been able to connect him to all Lapsus$ hacks.

Bloomberg News did not name the suspected hacker but shared his online alias which is “White”.

Researchers have said that the mastermind teen is supremely skilled at hacking.

They suspect another teenager in Brazil to be a member of this group. A rival hacking group has posted the teenager’s personal information including his address and information about his parents.
