PESHAWAR: Jamiat Ulema Islam (JUI-F) MPA, Shah Hussain here on Friday polled first vote in Senate Election in Khyber Pakthunkhwa (KPK) Assembly.
The polling for 12 seats of Khyber Pakthunkhwa for Upper House started under supervision of Presiding Officer and Provincial Election Commissioner, Sher Afgan Khan.
The polling started at 9am and will continue till 4pm. Khyber Pakthunkhwa Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti, Information Minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain and Opposition Leader, Akram Khan Durrani arrived at the assembly.
As many as 25 contestants are in the run for 12 senate seats in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In Khyber Pakthunkhwa, 13 candidates are in the run for seven general seats, four candidates for two seats reserved for women, six for two reserved seats for Ulema and Technocrats and two candidates are contesting for one seat of minorities. (APP)
