In Pakistan's Pashtun tribal communities, the girl's family asks a higher payment from the boy for marriage, in the name ofanold custom of the community called'Wulvur.'

Marriages are often delayed for years as a result of late payment of 'Wulver,' which can be in the millions.

The community developed the custom to ensure that the boy can meet the financial responsibilities that come with marriage. However, according to the DW report, youth in the Pashtun tribal communitiesare subjected to a great deal of pressure as a result of this tradition.

Locals claim that the old tradition, which was set to support the women of the community has now become a business.
