Researchers from the University of Tokyo have finally developed a robot that is able to peel a banana without mushing the fruit inside, Daily Mail reported.

It has been difficult for scientists for a long time to create a robot with this ability. Usually, the robots’ firm hold crushes the banana while peeling it.

This robot, however, was trained by machine learning. It imitated a human demonstrator.

It did take three minutes to complete the task, however. The bot has two arms, each with two fingers.

This successful execution has given researchers hope that robots will improve fine motor skills in future.
