WARSAW: Fourteen people were confirmed dead in a head-on train crash in Szczekociny, southern Poland, late Saturday, Poland's Interior Minister Jacek Cichocki told reporters early Sunday.

"At present, the death toll in this train catastrophe has risen to 14," said Cichocki, speaking at the crash site as rescue operations were underway overnight. (AFP)
