KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has clarified that party chief Altaf Hussain had never received any single penny from ISI or any other agency, Geo News reported.

In a statement issued here, MQM spokesman categorically rejected accusations of receiving money and termed these as baseless.

The spokesman said it is a fact that agencies tried to buy Altaf Hussain many times and ISI Brigadier Imtiaz, on the directives of Hamid Gul brought money to him in 1988 but MQM chief refused to receive it. Brig Imtiaz has accepted this before media recently, he added.

In the same way, in 1990, General Aslam Baig sent Brigadier Hamid with money to Altaf Hussain but MQM leader refused to accept it, the spokesman said and added that its evidence is former ISI chief Asad Durrani's statement which he has submitted in the Supreme Court.

Statement of giving money to Altaf Hussain by Yousuf Advocate is also mere a lie. MQM strongly condemn it, the spokesman said.
