DHAKA: Bangladesh captain Mushfiqur Rahim won the toss and put Pakistan into bat in the opening match of the Asia Cup one-day tournament here at the Shere Bangla National Stadium on Sunday.

Defending champions India and Sri Lanka are the other teams in the tournament. Each side will play the other once in the round-robin league, with the top two playing the final on March 22.

This is the first match of Dav Whatmore as Pakistan coach.

Azhar Ali is not playing in the match as Nasir Jamshed will open the innings with Mohammad Hafeez.
