Spring festival from March 12

FAISALABAD: University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) will kick off a six-day spring festival from March 12.

A spokesman of UAF said here on Sunday that the spring festival would comprise colorful events including farmers convention, agricultural exhibition, flower show, fancy bird show, horse and cattle show, tent pegging, milk competition, cow and buffaloes beauty competition, cultural shows as well as international seminars and conferences.

The festival is aimed at promoting modern agricultural practices and outreach activities in a bid to increase per acre production of various crops, fruits and vegetable to cope with the food insecurity situation confronting the homeland, he added.

He said that on March 12, agricultural exhibition, flower show and fancy birds show would also be inaugurated at D-Ground of the varsity while tent pegging competitions would be opened at Race Course Ground, UAF, on Jail Road. (APP)
