Former Indian star cricketer Kapil Dev left the decision on the revival of bilateral cricket between Pakistan and India on the government when he said that "only they can decide" over it.
National interest is of foremost importance when it comes to restarting bilateral cricketing relations with Pakistan, Times of India quoted Kapil as saying at a media talk.
The legendary cricketer said that the players are always ready to play Pakistan vs India cricket but the government's thought process holds the greatest significance, when asked about the prospects of seeing the arch rivals in the field again.
"My opinion is not important. What is the most important is the country’s policy," Dev said.

He said that as a sportsman and a citizen, everyone should stand by the government's policy.
The cricket matches between Pakistan and India for many years have been confined to just continental and global — International Cricket Council(ICC) tournaments.
India cut bilateral cricket ties with Pakistan after attacks in Mumbai in 2008 that authorities blamed on Pakistani militants and the teams now only play each other in multi-nation events.
The South Asian rivals have not faced each other in a bilateral series since Pakistan toured India in 2012/13 for a set of one-day internationals and T20 matches during a brief thaw in relations.
