Earlier, England Cricket Board also held an iftar ceremony at Lord's cricket ground where the Muslim community was invited. For the very first time,Adhan (Islamic call to prayer) was called on the historic balcony of Lord's Cricket Ground. England’s World Cup-winning captain Eoin Morgan was also among the attendees in the iftar ceremony.
Such gatherings would not only help bring different religious communities closer to each other but will also educate people about Islam and minimise Islamophobia in the country.
