RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Day debates competition was organized here on Friday by Radio VOW 96.6 FM at Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU) to celebrate Pakistan Day.
The chief guest for the occasion was Dr. Naheed Zia Khan, Acting Vice Chancellor, Dean Faculty of Law, Management and Administrative Sciences and Chairperson, Editorial Board while the judges for the competition were Ms Fakhira Riaz, Lecturer, Department of English and Bhusra Ghaus, Lecturer, Department of Education. Chairpersons, faculty and students were present at the event.
The event started with the recitation of Holy Quran. Welcome address was given by Dr. Shamim Zaidi, Incharge Radio Vow.
The theme of the competition was 'Aj Ka Pakistan Tehreek-e-Pakistan Kay Pas Manzar Mein'. Students from different departments participated in the competition.
Salma Basharat of Department of Behavioral Sciences, Asiale Altaf of Communication and Media Studies, Qurat-ul-Ain of Maths Department secured first second and third positions respectively.
While addressing, Dr. Naheed Zia Khan encouraged the students to utilize their potential and talent in the betterment of the country.
Shama Khalid, Senior Producer Radio VOW gave Vote of thanks and encouraged the students to work hard for every competition and show how capable they are.
All the winners would be awarded the prizes on 14th August to commemorate Radio VOW's anniversary.
