LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has said that horticulture has been promoted in the province and all development projects are being decorated with the flowers and plants to enhance the beauty of Lahore.
He said Lahore would be made the city of gardens and flowers by restoring its natural beauty.
Appreciating the work of horticulture in parks in front of airport, the chief minister also announced a cash prize of Rs5,000 for each gardener (Mali) and head gardener (Head Mali) of PHA working there.
He was reviewing the horticulture work in parks and fountains constructed in front of Allama Iqbal International Airport here on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said the provincial government was taking solid steps for provision of best recreational facilities and clean environment to the citizens. He said beautiful parks and landscapes were being developed in other cities, including Lahore, so that people should enjoy the best living style. Shahbaz said that best recreational facilities were also being provided for the children in the parks.
While appreciating the excellent horticulture work in the parks at the airport, Shahbaz said the officers and gardeners of the PHA deserved congratulation for creating attractive natural scenes for the passengers.
He also inspected fountain on the occasion and praised beautiful flowers planted in the parks.
Punjab Assembly Deputy Speaker Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, Senator Pervaiz Rashid and Special Assistant Zaeem Hussain Qadri were also present. Director General PHA informed the CM about the horticulture projects.
