ISLAMABAD: Youngsters and children from various educational institutions of twin cities here Wednesday presented a colorful cultural show to mark forthcoming Pakistan Day at Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA).

The show featured national songs and speeches to highlight the significance of the day and the importance of freedom movement while
various tableaus were presented to demonstrate the historical value of 23rd March as Pakistan day.

The segments of puppet show, regional dances and tableaus portrayed different themes related to freedom movement, cultural heritage, rich arts and crafts of the country through vibrant costumes and traditional props.

The event highlighted the role of freedom fighters for getting a separate homeland and the celebration of Pakistan Day which commemorates Lahore Resolution adopted in 1940 when the Muslims of Indian subcontinent pledged to create an independent homeland, where they could live in accordance with their religious and cultural
values.

Students from Fatima Jinnah Women University, Bright Land School, Bahria College, Islamabad College for Boys, G-6/3, Arid Agriculture University, and other private institutions showcased their skills of performing arts during the show.

Speaking on the occasion, Director General PNCA, Tauqeer Nasir appreciated the skills of children and youngsters for making the festivity colorful with their talent.

He said, such events help children to understand the history with entertaining programmes and cultural promotion shows.

The Talent Hunt Programme of PNCA and the National Performing Arts Group have hired the young talent to perform at various platforms of PNCA for giving recognition to the artistic skills of the youth, he said.

PNCA in collaboration with Ministry of National Heritage and Integration will also arrange a musical show with renowned singers on March 23 with presentation of national songs, classical lyrics and popular songs of the participating singers. (APP)
