KARACHI: Police used water cannons and tear gas to disperse protesting nurses and paramedical staff at the Press Club as they tried to reach the Governor House.

According to sources, the protesters were demanding a pay raise.

As the protestors tried to make their way to the Governor House which is a red zone, they were met by the police who stopped them with a water cannon and tear gas.

Several members of the paramedical staff were injured when police baton charged the crowd.
