FB T20 Cup: Iftikhar, Afridi shine as Panthers beat Zebras

RAWALPINDI: Opener Iftikhar Ahmed and paceman Riaz Afridi demonstrated excellent performances to help Peshawar Panthers defeat Karachi Zebras by 31 runs.

Chasing 159, the Zebras were restricted to 127-7 in the allotted 20 overs due to fierce attack by Riaz Afridi, who grabbed four wickets for 15 runs.

The main scorers for the Karachi Zebras were Faisal Iqbal (40), Anwar Ali (39) and Fahad Iqbal (30).

Earlier, Peshawar Panthers batted first after their captain Akbar Badshah won the toss and made 158 for five in 20 overs.

Iftikhar top scored with 77 runs from 56 balls as he struck seven fours and three sixes he was later declared man-of-the-match.

Among other main scorers, Akbar Badshah remained not out on 21 and Gauhar Ali also made 21.

For the Zebras, Anwar Ali and Uzair-ul-Haq claimed two wickets each.
