PESHAWAR: District Coordination Officer (DCO) Siraj Muhammad Khan on Tuesday paid a surprise visit of different markets and bazaars of the city and directed traders to immediately remove encroachments, otherwise strict action would be taken against violators.

Accompanied by officials of district administration and Peshawar police besides office bearers of traders associations, the DCO visited Shahi Bagh, Vegetable Market road and Firdus bazaar and asked the traders to immediately remove encroachments in their own interests.

The top administrator of Peshawar said encroachment was unacceptable and directed the traders to keep their goods inside the shops to ensure smooth traffic flow and walking place for visitors on footpaths.

"Footpaths are meant for pedestrians and persons, who encroaches footpaths by placing pushcarts and extending merchandise of their shops on it not only violate basic rights of public but also breach local bodies' laws as well," he maintained.

He said that nobody would be allowed to violate the basic rights of the public. The DCO said encroachment also affect beauty of the City.

On this occasion, the traders assured him all out support besides removing encroachments and keep their goods inside shops. (APP)
