Batgaram mosque massacre claims five lives

BATGARAM: A madman armed with an assault rifle stormed into a mosque in Batgaram and killed five worshippers before cops could pinion him, Geo News reported.

Police say the attacker, who is a resident of Bannu, is insane.

The murder weapon, an AK-47 assault rifle, was also seized by the law-enforcers.

The attack was carried out when the worshippers were preparing for the Asar Prayer.

The four other worshippers who had received bullet wound were rushed to the hospital.

The massacre is not new to the restive tribal belt in the northwest of the country, as the extremists have perpetrated numerous attacks on religious places in the recent months snuffing out scores of lives.
