ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Capital Territory Administration is all set to launch four-day polio immunization campaign starting from tomorrow (Monday).

In this regard, District Health Department, Islamabad, in coordination with CDA, Federal Directorate of Education, CADD, private educational institutions and WHO, have made special comprehensive arrangements, following the directives of Chief Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, for making the campaign more effective.

For the purpose, over 600 volunteers and teachers who were given training by the master trainers of ICT health department and WHO, are participating in this immunization campaign.

Around 274 house-to-house, 34 fixed and 24 transit teams for rural, who were imparted training besides CDA volunteers for urban areas are participating in the drive.

As many as 300 lady health workers and 200 nurses of PIMS are also participating in the polio campaign. The CDA has also deployed 500 teams for the urban area which has been divided into 15 zones and rural area into 12 zones.

As many as 2,27,000 children would be targeted during the drive in Islamabad. (APP)
