CIA Police arrest 25 accused of 3 criminal gangs

LAHORE: Organized Crime wing of CIA Police Lahore have smashed three criminal gangs and arrested 25 members including three women, three proclaimed offenders and one constable.

DIG Investigation Malik Ali Amer said while addressing a press conference at CIA Kotwali here on Thursday.

SP CIA Capt (r) Liaquat Ali Malik was also present.

The arrested accused have confessed their involvement in 63 incidents of robbery, dacoity and other heinous crimes in various places of the city besides incidents of vehicle snatching in Sheikhupura district.

The police have recovered Rs 1.1 million in cash, 70 tola gold ornaments, 26 motorcycles,66 batteries of mobile towers, cloth, one rifle, one pump action, 18 pistols and few hundreds bullets from their possession, the DIG said.

He said the arrested accused Khalid and Tasadaq were proclaimed offenders in a number of heinous crimes and Irfan masih alias Bablu was a court absconder. Constable Mohsan Zeshan who was appointed in Lorry Adda was also a history sheeter, he added.

The police highups have called the arrests as a big achievement of CIA Police which would help in decreasing crime rate in the provincial capital.
