1200kg poppy seized by Excise Police

KARACHI: A team of Excise Police Kotdeji headed by Ali Gul Wasaan, on a tip off intercepted a truck (JK-385) near Ubhan Naka near Khairpur and recovered 1200 kg of poppy, said an official handout here on Sunday.

Director General Excise and Taxation Shuaib Ahmed Sidiquiinformed that during checking excise police recovered 1200 kg of poppy hidden in concealed cavities of the truck. He said driver namely Amir Bux Golo, resident of Jafferabad. Balochistan was arrested.

A case has been registered and further investigation is under way.
