'Pak-Turkish ties to improve transport'

LAHORE: Collaboration between Turkey and Pakistan in the domain of urban transport will have deep impact in providing state of the art transport facilities to the general public.

This was stated by Chairman Lahore Transport Company Khawaja Ahmad Hassan after the agreement signing ceremony of new bus operation on route No. B-55. CEO LTC Khawaja Haider Latif and Hanifi Kartal M.D. Pak Ouz signed the agreement. General Manager (Operations) Asad Rehman Gillani, General Manager (Communication & Marketing) Amjad Husain, General Manager (Enforcement) Kamran Khan and General Manager (Bus Rapid Transit) Muhammad Ozair Shah also attended the ceremony.

Chairman Khawaja Ahmad Hassan has said that Pak Ouz (Turkish Company) will operate 30 new buses of International standard from Railway Station to Sabzazar. Numbers of routes are being revived in order to cater to the transport needs of the people. He said that reforms of the fundamental nature in urban transport were being introduced and it would go a long way in facilitating the general public. He said that in a phased programme entire urban transport system would be modernised. He said that electronic ticketing system would be installed in urban transport in order to ensure provision of a trouble free fare system to the people.

He said that numbers of buses were being increased on all routes of the city, so that maximum number of people could be given affordable and efficient transport facilities. He said the Lahore Transport Company had provided conducive environment to the local and foreign investment in urban transport sector.

Chairman LTC said that the new buses from Railway Station to Sabzazar would pass through Mcleod Road, Lakshmi Chowk, Jain Mandir, MAO College, Chauburji, Samanabad More, Band Road, Shera Kot, Liaqat Chowk and other areas of route B-55. Chairman Khawaja Ahmed Hassan congratulated the Managing Director Pak Ouz on the signing ceremony.
