Gunmen kill two cops, injure two others

QUTTA: Unknown gunmen opened fire at a police mobile van and killed two police constables and injured two others including an Assistant Sub-Inspector near Western Bypass area on outskirts of the provincial capital on Thursday.

When contacted police said that unidentified armed men riding bike opened fire at a police mobile of PS Brewery which was on routine patrolling on Kirani road in Sardar Karez area near Western Bypass." As a result of the firing, two constables were killed on the spot and two others including an ASI and a constable seriously injured," police added.

The assailants managed to escape from the scene.

The law enforcement personnel rushed to the site and shifted the bodies and the injured to Bolan Medical College hospital.

The dead were identified as police constables Sanaullah and Ghulam Murtaza and the injured as ASI Muhammad Hussain and constable Din Muhammad.

The law enforcement agencies have cordoned off the entire area and launched search operation to trace the attackers. Further probe was in process. (APP)
