Several injured in clash

LAHORE: A number of persons sustained injuries in a fray at the Lahore High Court premises on Friday after the families of a couple attacked each other.

However, the LHC security staff intervened in the matter and overcame the situation besides arranging a save exit of the couple.

Earlier, the couple, which solemnized love marriage, appeared before Justice Manzoor Ahmad Malik for recording a statement in a case registered against the bridegroom for kidnapping her wife.

The girl, Laila, a resident of Ravi Road, told the court that she married with Abdul Shakoor on her wish. She pleaded the court to allow her to go with her husband and directions be issued for cancellation of kidnapping case registered against her husband.

As the couple came out from the court, a fray started between both the families causing injuries to many persons including bride and bridegroom.

Meanwhile, a controversy also took place between families of another couple of love marriage in the courtroom of Justice Shahid Hameed Dar but the security staff immediately took control of the situation and forced both the parties to leave the court room.

The couple, Iram shahzadi and Tahir Abbas, appeared before the court to get their statement recorded.

The court allowed the girl to go with her husband after recording her statement.

Later, the LHC security managed a save exit of the couple.
