One killed, 10 injured in Karachi grenade attack

KARACHI: A man was killed and ten others were injured when unknown miscreants hurled a hand grenade at a shop here on Saturday, Geo News reported.

According to rescue sources, unidentified culprits hurled a hand grenade at a shop located at Jamshed Road that injured 11 people initially out of which one man later succumbed to his injuries in Civil Hospital.

Witnesses told that the attackers were riding a motorcycle and attacked the saturated section of the restaurant. The injured were rushed to Jinnah and Civil hospitals.

A senior police official said that investigation into the incident is underway.

Sources said that the restaurant was attacked because the owner had not paid the extortion money of Rs1.5 million, however, police and hotel administration did not confirm this.
