LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Tuesday submitted a resolution in Punjab Assembly against Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain’s controversial remarks regarding Pakistan Army and Rangers.
The resolution was submitted by PTI member and leader of the opposition Mian Mehmood ur Rasheed and Sibtain Khan.
It demanded that the federal government should report to British government about the speeches of Altaf and the government should bring him to Pakistan with help of Interpol (International Criminal Police Organisation).
The resolution further stated that the MQM chief should be tried and a severe punishment be given to him.
It added that the role of Pakistan Army and Rangers in the fight against terrorism and to maintain peace is highly commendable.
A number of FIRs were lodged against Altaf Hussain under section 153-A in different police stations in Interior Sindh late on Monday.
According to the content of the FIRs, Altaf used inappropriate language against Pakistan’s defence and security institutions. It said Altaf’s move was aimed at creating chaos in Karachi and the rest of Sindh.
It said Hussain had also made a speech against Pakistan’s institutions on July 12.
The FIR also said that the MQM chief had fled to the foreign country to work for India.
