FAISALABAD: Eight members of a family including four women and a child were gunned down over old enmity in Faisalabad early Wednesday morning, Geo News reported.

According to police, unknown gunmen entered a house in Green Town early morning and opened fire on the residents. As a result of indiscriminate firing, Ghulam Fatima, Ramzan Bibi and 12-year-old Ahmed died on the spot while five others including four women were injured.

Two other relatives of the same family were also wounded in Shadman Town when unidentified gunmen opened fire on them. All the injured were shifted to Allied Hospital where five more succumbed to their injuries, raising the toll to eight.

Initial investigations suggest that the incident can be attributed to old rivalry, however, further probe is underway, police told.
