ISLAMABAD: Islamabad police have nabbed 92 absconders involved in crime of heinous nature during the last three weeks in its special crackdown against outlaws, a police spokesman said here on Wednesday.

Inspector General of Police Islamabad Bani Amin Khan has assigned the task to all police officials to ensure arrest of proclaimed offenders as well as court absconders and inform his office on the daily basis about success in this special crackdown.

He also directed all SDPOs launch massive crackdown against proclaimed offenders and court absconders. In compliance of these directions, SSP Islamabad Muhammad Yousuf Malik ordered all heads of police stations of Islamabad to start their renewed efforts to arrest outlaws. A total of 92 absconders including proclaimed offenders and court absconders have been apprehended during the last three weeks.

City and Saddar Zones of Islamabad police arrested a total of 70 absconders while Industrial area, rural area circles nabbed 11 and eight absconders respectively. Similarly, Crime Investigation Agency of Islamabad police also apprehended three absconders.

SSP Islamabad Muhammad Yousuf Malik has issued directions to make this campaign further effective as the performance of police stations in-charges would be further reviewed soon in this regard.

He said that no one is above the law and arrest of those being at large after their involvement in crime of heinous nature should be ensured for the safety to the lives and property of the citizens.

He warned the police officials that sluggish attitude in this regard would not be tolerated. (APP)
