LAHORE: Pakistan Railway has suspended services of two major passenger trains while all the domestic freight trains already remain off tracks due to shortage of locomotives, Geo News reported Tuesday.

According to Railway officials, Karachi Express that plied between Karachi and Lahore, and Sandal Express with Khanpure-Rawalpindi route will stop running from tomorrow.

The Pakistan Railways labour union has alleged that service of Karachi Express was being suspended in order to ensure success for the Business train which, they added, had already incurred millions of losses.

The Railway officials, however, said the service of suspended trains would be restored in case the locomotives became available.

All the freight trains already remain suspended with the exception of one that is plying between Indian and Pakistan.
