LAHORE: The Punjab Apex Committee has decided to launch crackdown against abettors and financiers of terrorists and extremists in the province.
The provincial Apex Committee, which met here under the chair of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, vowed to completely eliminate terrorism, extremism and sectarianism from Punjab. It also expressed satisfaction over security measures adopted to counter terrorism.
The meeting also agreed to further expedite implementation on National Action Plan.
It also imposed ban on collection of Zakat and Fitra by proscribed outfits in the province.
Corps Commander lieutenant General Naveed Zaman, Provincial Home Minister Colonel (retd) Shujaa Khanzada, Chief Secretary Punjab, DG Rangers Punjab Major General Umer Farooq, General Officer Commmanding 10 Division Major General Sardar Tariq Aman, Inspector General Police Punjab, Home Secretary and other high ups attended the meeting.
